EVOLUTION OF TRIPUS TP3251 SWITCH OFFER – HIGHER AVAILABILITY AND PROVEN RELIABILITY

Ensuring the safety and operational continuity of machinery in your facilities is our top priority. To maintain the highest standard of service and ensure even faster order fulfillment, we are introducing a planned update to our industrial switch product line.

We are evolving our proven TP3251 series into a unified, modern product line: 61TP.

What do the changes cover?

61TP Series (formerly TP3251) – undervoltage release switches: single-phase, 2-pole built-in switches with undervoltage release 230V for a wide range of applications such as motors, concrete mixers, drilling machines, and many more.

What does the series transition mean in practice?

The most important information for design engineers, maintenance departments, and system integrators is that device functionality remains 100% preserved.

  • Full functional compatibility (1:1): The new 61TP series offers the exact same electrical parameters, operating modes, and safety levels as the discontinued models. Transitioning to the new products requires no changes to control logic or electrical schematics.
  • Maximum reduction in lead times: By optimizing the components used in the new series, we have fully eliminated reliance on supply chain bottlenecks. This directly translates to higher stock availability and predictable delivery times.
  • Compact design: The new switches feature slightly optimized dimensions — the housing has been redesigned for enhanced installation ergonomics in modern machinery.

New part numbering system – simpler and smarter selection

Along with the introduction of the 61TP series, we have streamlined and simplified our product numbering system. The former catalog numbers have been replaced with a logical parametric code, enabling engineers and procurement teams to quickly read key device specifications directly from the part number.

How to read the new part numbers? Example code structure:

Example part number from the 61TP series: 61 TP WI 230 5 6 1 0 BK

  • Main group & type: 61 (main group) / TP (device type)
  • Version / mounting: e.g., SN (Snap-in), WI (WIPP), 42 (transverse mounting), 62 (longitudinal mounting)
  • Electrical parameters: 230 (coil voltage in V), 5 (50 Hz), 6 (60 Hz)
  • Execution options:

    • Number of pins: 0 = 4-pin without coil contact / 1 = 5-pin with coil contact
    • Splash-proof cover: 0 = no / 1 = yes
    • Frame color: BK = black / YE = yellow

1:1 Cross-reference selection table

For your convenience, below is the complete cross-reference table mapping discontinued TP3251 part numbers to their new parametric codes:

Outdoor power. How to safely power events, food trucks, and campsites in the summer season?

The summer season is a time when business, entertainment, and recreational activities largely move outdoors. Music festivals, open-air cinemas, summer beer gardens, food truck rallies, and campsites all share one key challenge: the need to provide reliable, stable, and, above all, safe access to electrical energy under field conditions.

How to safely and conveniently control high-inrush current machinery from a distance

Modern workshops, sawmills, agricultural farms, and production floors all require solutions that combine two key features: high machinery safety and maximum operator convenience. When working with high-power three-phase motors (from 5.5 kW / 400 V and above), the primary challenge becomes the so-called inrush current. Simply switching the motor on “all at once” could trip […]
